The concept for plafond.at follows the concept of enchantedceiling.com by David Huyck. He was inspired by J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series (which he is addicted to).
In the stories, the ceiling of the great hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is enchanted to reflect the weather outside the castle. He imagined a site where you could enter your zip code, and the site would read your local weather conditions and adapt the look of the site to look like the sky above you. A few things helped him develop the idea further.
David Huyck managed enchantedceiling.com from 2004 to 2011. The archive is online here.
David gave us the source code of enchantedceiling.com and here we are with some changes: plafond.at, webmastering by Jörg Grabner, logodesign by Andreas Wolkerstorfer, and uploading by ... you.
